At the top of Flora's Hill, six stones stand in a circle, created by the artist Kenneth Johansson in 2000. The work is part of Luleå's investment in seating sculptures and functions both as a work of art and as a place for rest. The stones have different surfaces – from raw to polished – and can also be used as a sundial where the shadows from the stones indicate the time.

Gammelstad Church Town is one of Sweden's best-preserved church towns and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, over 400 red-painted cottages stand close to the 15th-century Nederluleå Church. In the past, people from all over the region gathered here during church holidays to attend mass, meet friends, and shop.

Luleå City Hall was inaugurated in 1958 and designed by architect Bo Cederlöf. The building, often called the "Marble Palace," was then the city's tallest office building and housed all municipal operations under one roof. With its bright rooms, large glass sections, and a view from the restaurant at the top, it remains one of Luleå's most famous buildings.

Norrbottensteatern was founded in 1967 and was Sweden's first regional theater with a permanent ensemble. The current building in Norra Hamn was completed in 1986 and is designed like a ship in the harbor. Everything from classic plays to newly written performances for both adults and children are staged here.

Stadshotellet opened in 1903 and is one of Luleå's most magnificent buildings. After a fire in 1959, parts of the building were renovated and some turrets were removed, but the hotel retained its charm. Today, it houses over 150 rooms, a restaurant, and a gastropub, and remains a natural meeting place in the heart of central Luleå.

Clifton Fexmo was a colourful and beloved figure in Luleå, known for his advertisements in the local Annonsbladet. In short notes, he shared everyday observations and thoughts. His style earned him the nickname "the first blogger" and resulted in both an art exhibition and a book. Fexmo was also active in the local community, putting Luleå on the map with his personality and charm.

Jarmo Myllys was born in 1965 in Savonlinna, Finland, and became one of Luleå HF's greatest goaltenders. He was the safe pair of hands at the back when the club won its historic Swedish championship gold in 1995/1996 and entered the history books as the only SHL goaltender to have scored two goals. With his personality and reflexes, he is one of the most memorable figures in Luleå's hockey history.

Martin Ljung was born in Luleå in 1917 and became a beloved comedian and actor. He appeared in revues, films, and radio shows, known for his quick wit and unique stage presence. His Norrland background lent warmth and relatability to his humor, and he remains a memorable name in Swedish entertainment.

The music group Movitz has its roots in Luleå and uniquely blends hip-hop with jazz influences. With lyrics that tell stories of life both in and outside the city, they have created their own musical style and a distinct stage persona. Through their creativity, rhythm, and expressiveness, they have put Luleå on the map.
